Posting Photos for P

Today I am attempting to put in some photos in the category of "p" for the ABC meme that I follow along with the other wonderful memes listed at the end of the post.  I am having a very busy week so my text will be limited and I won't be able to reply to comments for a few days as I am away from the computer at this time.  This is a parrot but I am not sure what kind he is ....I lost the info on this bird, someone will tell me what it is.

 Pigeons in love.

Pigeon, oh well it is a Rock Dove but I call it a Pigeon.

This is an eagle eating a fish at Pedder Bay this summer.

Here is a Polyanthus..this was one of the first pictures I put on my first blog years ago.
Recent Pow Wow this summer.

I am so rushed with this blog...sorry...I am a bit late for this week due to other commitments but did not want to miss the week entirely. When I get back on the computer I will catch up.

My thoughts go out to many of the people in the path of  hurricane Sandy.  Many bloggers I know are in that area.  Please stay safe.

The news just came in that the Bounty sank.  I have not got all the info yet. Hope all the people were saved.  Took these pictures in June of 2008 when the Bounty came here with the Tall Ships.

Thank you to these memes for allowing bloggers to share their story.  I may not remember to enter them all but this is the quick way for me to join in the memes as I have some difficulty with my eyes. So glad that these memes continue on, Our World is a long standing meme kept alive by dedicated group.  Many of the bird memes ended so I am glad that Wild Bird and Bird D'pot continue to gather the birders.  Nature Notes and Outdoors Wednesday are also long time memes hosted by helpful bloggers.

Please take care in this week of storms and earthquakes.

edit note:  I sometimes have to republish after I see how many errors I made or links not working.  I list all the memes for the week now as I can only spend a short time on the computer as my eyes get tired. Such is life. To continue reading posts you must click older post below or see the index at the top or the side or pick a popular post or label from the sidebar.

Your parrot is a female eclectus parrot, which occurs from Cape York Peninsula in NE Australia through to Wallacea. Males are green with an peach-coloured bill. Stunning birds.

A wonderful, delightful post as always with beautiful, colorful captures of such a terrific variety and they do take my breath away!! I, too, feel so for the people in the path of Sandy! Hopefully, the storm will exhaust itself soon!! Have a good week!

thanks Sylvia...yes I hope the storm does not put the power out for the elections coming up.

In my eagerness to ID the parrot, I forgot to say how much I enjoyed your photos! :)

And it is cheering to see those pictures of Bounty doing what she was built to do, given the latest news about her.

Great photos of all the things starting with "P". I was going to say that the Peregrines were my favorite but then I came to the Polyanthus. Polyanthus were the first flowers I grew in my little garden plot when I was a very very small girl!

So now that you know what sort of parrot it is - you can just sit back and enjoy how splendid it is. Great pictures.

What a great collection of images! The colors of the parrot woke me up, the fish images made me hungry, the shots of the HMS Bounty made me sad and the Eagle and Peregrine got me excited as I saw both species yesterday. Was only able to get shots of the Eagle as the falcon was too far away and wayyyy to fast.
Thank you for eliciting such a wide range of emotions all at once!

Nora, Every one of your pictures is just beautiful -- (I'd be able to make a hundred posts out of this collection...you have a great eye and live in a great place, but even so I am awestruck at all these great pictures. The peregrine falcon is beautiful .. there is a small raptor rehab center here in Eugene and that makes me want to check it out while we're still here in the area.

Thank you for sharing all this beauty. Take care! (I understand and empathize with the tired eyes too!)
