More Storms

We are having one storm after the other on my island.  These photos and the video were taken yesterday at Island View Beach. I tried to get out of the truck but the wind was too strong and I was JOSTLED all about. We are at the letter "j" for the ABC Link Up.

All the photos of the storm were taken inside the truck so they are really dark and you can see parts of the truck. The storm photos are for Our World Tuesday and Water World Wednesday.

There is another linky for Water called Wednesday Waters. (Thanks Gemma). I get so mixed up sometimes, my mind is a JUMBLE!

This is what we call a log JAM!

For Outdoors Wednesday!

People storm watching in their nice JALOPIES.

Now on to the birds of the week.

For Little Things as these birds are so little

Out Steller's Jay and Juncos for The Bird D'pot.

Our oyster catchers are JET black except for the beak and the legs.

For Black and White Wednesday and Wild Birds Wednesday, a Raven and a Falcon.

For Good Fences Thursday, here is a unique ski fence!

I made two versions of this video because I could not decide what music to put on it.  I had music on in the truck as I was filming and the Youtube screener found it so I wanted to change the music.  Which version do you like?

Thank you to these meme hosts for allowing bloggers to share their story.  Click on these links to find great blogs and photos.

Storm watching from the truck sounds the best way to enjoy the day.

These are beautiful photos Nora. I heard about the terrible winds you had there on the weekend. The video is really nice and I think I like the calmer music in the first one best. Very nicely done. Have a great week ahead!

Wonderful storm shots. Love seeing another part of the island I have not seen before. So do you live near Victoria? Great videos. Both music are great as I like them both.

What a feast for the eyes! (And the ears.) Loved the bird and fence photos, but the stormy photos kept drawing me back. Couldn't decide on the music so I choose both. =)

Your videos are great. It is amazing how music can set the tone no matter what the scene. The first seems more idyllic, despite there being a storm.

I love the bright red of the lighthouse with the blue sky in your header, Nora! I saw a video of the rough seas up there from a ferry boat, I hope the weather settles down for you soon. We are having mostly rainy days but may get a few dry days this week, maybe I can try to get my garden beds ready again.

Those stormy skies are still beautiful.

Hello! Stormy weather where you are, just windy where we are in Portugal, so we don't get those huge pieces of drift wood on our shores, but it looks great in your pictures. Your bird images are lovely, and you have so many different species that we don't see here either. I like the original looking ski fence. Have a good day, and a great week1:)

We have jet black Oystercatchers too, different species, but very similar. Like the ski fence.

Love all these photos, Nora. So beautiful. The video is wonderful, really get a sense of that windy stormy day. I like the mellow music in the first video best.

Greast post - when the storms leave you they travel inland to the Okanagan/Similkameen, but today we are between storms and the sky is blue and summery....

HOOTIN ANNI said...

Sorry, I'm in Hootin' Anni's blog admin today and wanted to make sure I paid you a visit so I could view your bird shares.

Hope the storms pass and Spring arrives with some beauty. Of course, storms are pretty too. As long as they're not damaging storms.

Thanks for sharing your post at I'd Rather B Birdin' this week....love the juncos. AND the black oystercatcher - we don't have those here, so that was a real treat.

I love storms by the sea and could watch them - from the warm interior of a car! With hot chocolate!
The oyster catchers are lovely, they belong to my favorite beach birds. Your bird photos are wonderful!

Liz said...

Nice shot! I do love watching storms roll in from the sea.

A nice mixture of photographs. A storm sure can churn up the sea, and then leave it glassy calm. Such moods! - Margy

Beautiful pictures! We have had some rowdy winds here too (we are a bit south of you and inland). I always enjoy stormy weather pictures, so magnificent! And your bird pictures are just sweet! I enjoyed my first visit to your happy place today :)

So glad you are better! Happy to see your photos. I'd heard you had some weather out your way!

Great photos of the birds - the oyster catchers are really fun with their bright beaks and pink legs.
All the beach photos are terrific but I especially like the first one.

Wonderful storm pictures and great videos. Love those oyster catchers with the bright red beaks.
Enjoy your week,

We are also very familiar with strong typhoons, but we sometimes are thankful to them because we get the needed rains as part of the storm. Those seashore with washout garbage or logs are normally what we also see after typhoons.

Jenn said...

I remember how incredible those ocean storms could be, your photos are wonderful :)

CountryMouse said...

We've been getting rain but not storms. It is always interesting to see what washes up with stron weather. That is a lot of logs. Nice photos of the restless water.

Storms are soothing to me, seems odd but they are. I like listening to thunder and rain when I am going to sleep.

i can see how the wind is blowing by the figures on the beach pushing into the wind. i love the log jam photos and that Jay photo is beautiful, looks real enough to touch him..

Such gorgeous photos and video of the stormy skies and sea! I think the first music was better, but the second music was great fun! :-) Love the beautiful bird shots as well. I look forward to visiting Vancouver Island one day after we get moved to Oregon! I am anxious to see it myself.

what great moody, blustery skies! love the bird shots and of course, the fence. :)

Rose said...

Great photos...I would want to be watching the storm, too.

Awesome storm photos. I think I'd rather be watching from inside my car than outside in it like those people on the beach. Great bird shots. I like the Oyster Catchers.
The ski fence is fun and colorful.

Margaret Adamson said...

I enjoyed your whole post especially the videos and loved the last piece of music best although the first piece suited the video better.

We have such a tiny house, right now I'm unable to listen to the video (I need earphones).... but I loved the storm pictures ... so beautiful. (I like the warm winters here in Florida, but the Pacific Coast is the best coast/the best ocean by far!!!) Your birds are wonderful. Thanks for the beauty and the memories.

Chel at Sweetbriar Dreams said...

Wow that sea is certainly choppy! I would also be inside the car watching and keeping out of the wind. Fantastic videos. I also love the ski fence, a great way to use up the ones no longer needed. Thanks for popping by my blog, I'm following you too xx

Gorgeous photos of the storm. I love the birds.

I'm captured by the beauty of scenes presented... I would love to see such amazing scenery, also to listen music while I'm staring at the waves....
Not sure what melody is in the first video but I love it. In the second, the Beethoven music ( Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67) is absolutely divine. Both have something precious to express through your images related...
Many thanks for these aspects of nature, for music! Have a Happy Day of Happiness, od Spring, too!

Rambling Woods said...

I liked the music on both video clips... Depends on if you want something very dramatic or less so.. I love the waves... Michelle
