Season of the Sun

It is the Season of the Sun here!  Finally some warm weather.

These two silhouettes are from Mount Tolmie.  People go there to see the sunset.  We go there for birds and butterflies.  These shots are for Saturday Silhouettes.

Here is an Elk at Cowichan Lake.  These are for the Critter Memes.

For Saturday's Critters and Camera Critters.
Is it time to play yet?
Lovely Luna
For Shadow Shot Sunday we have a West Coast Lady Butterfly up on the top of Mount Tolmie.  He seems pretty impressed with the size of his shadow.
For Pink Saturday some pink flowers (Peonies) in the garden.
Trying a new Meme, Jeannette's Seasons.  Looks like a fun and easy Meme to do.  Give it a try.   It is the season of our wild roses here.
The roses bloom everywhere at this time of year and they smell so lovely.
It is the season for painters on the beach.  These were taken at Witty's Lagoon a short time ago.  It is the season to go to the beach again.  Yay! It is like a vacation here to go to the beach for the day.

All the people at Witty's Lagoon beach.
It is the season for the baby goslings.

Thank you to each of these meme hosts for allowing bloggers to share their story. Click on any of these links for some great blogs and photos.

Season of the sun is right. Getting so hot here I won't be posting as much the rest of the summer. :(

Great photo, the top silhouette is very striking as is the second. Must have been breathtaking. I have a fondness for elk, such beautiful animals, and the goslings and Luna is adorable. What an expressive face. Pretty butterfly with the shadow and the flowers are gorgeous! I love peonies and roses, well to be truthful I love so many varieties. Great beach shots, it’s been a while since the holiday and I am thinking of warm sand and walking along in bare feet (it is chilly and rainy here in Northern Virginia right now). Enjoyed reading your post, happy weekend to you.

Great critters - and flowers - and silhouettes!!

The sunset silhouette (I always have to rely on spellcheck for that word. Get it wrong every single time) is a magnificent photo & your dog Luna is beautiful. So far since I started photography in about November last year I've only managed to photograph ONE butterfly. I'm always too slow before they fly off.

Love that you did it Nora! Each shot is a beautiful representation of Spring! My goodness, I have never seen an elk! Am amazed at this painter at the beach - so clean:) When I paint plein air in no time I have surrounded myself with twice as much "stuff!"
Really enjoyed you being a part of SEASONS and hope to see you back next Sunday at the earliest (somehow I had set the dates wrong) -each week it should be from Sunday 12am to Wednesday 7pm, Pacific time.
Have a great week and am looking forward to your next shot:)

Hi Mac, oh I will miss those stunning photos you take, hope you will still put in one or two over the summer. How about taking them out the window with the AC on.

Thanks so much Denise. I love taking silhouettes as I do not put people photos in the blog very often, and a silhouette is more private. Hope the weather improves there for you. On the day I took the beach photos we waded in the water and walked in the sand. So relaxing.

Hi Tony, wow you have some great photos on that site of yours in Tasmania. I peeked in there and will check back and try to follow you. Thanks for coming, nice to meet someone new. As the butterflies age they sometimes slow down and in the evening they seem to slow down so try that. cheers.

Hi Alexa, thanks so much for your kind comments. I will check out your blog this week.

Hi Jeannette, yes I finally tried it. I am still not sure I know what I am doing when I do memes. For the first 5 or 6 years that I blogged I did not do any memes at all and was scared to join them. Now that is all I do! I sometimes do them incorrectly also.

Hi Nora, just stopping by to answer your question about the frog in my latest post. He was definitely for real. As soon as I took this photo he jumped back into that pool! Just didn't follow my advice :) Have a great week!

Nora said...

Thanks Denise, I thought for sure that frog was a decoration and you were foolin' me! He is real, wow nature is so beautiful.

Arrived here from Seasons. Lovely photos! My friend has just got a new dog, very similar to yours, also called Luna! How funny!

I enjoyed watching your videos. Your shots are very clear and beautiful. You must have had a lot of patience. Thanks for your comment. I am so sorry that you are not able to travel around, but I am glad that you can show us nature as it surrounds you. That bear was very real. And the little bird was talking all the time though we couldn't here. Have a great week.

A perfect and perfectly beautiful post -- I can almost smell those wonderful wild roses. You live in Paradise. (A different part of the Pacific Northwest, but still reminds me of how much I am missing it this time of year. Spring is wonderful there!!)
