This is the week in photos, above is French Beach where we had a wonderful day and ....
wonderful weather after all those storms.
It was unusually warm and there was no wind. The tide was low enough to walk a bit, but a warning to those who go there as the large rocks on the shore make for slow walking at high tide.
French Beach has many different areas to explore, even a nice walk way and a trail along the beach. The storm had thrown up huge logs on the trail but the park is very well taken care of and the trail will be fixed.
Black and White
Here is one of the signs about the Gray Whale and showing other sea life that can be found here. French Beach is only a short drive from Sooke, B.C.
Then on the way home we stopped at Whiffin Spit in Sooke, B.C.
It was also warm and sunny there but the storms had pushed a lot of logs and kelp up onto the path but it was still ok to walk on. They will come with a truck and fix it. I am trying out my new second hand camera and I see that I tilt to the right on my horizons so will have to put the tilt thing on the screen or fix it in edit. I gave Ron my other camera so he will get some amazing shots now.
Black and White
We did not get the Tsunami last week thank goodness!
Also this week we went to see the Spring Prelude at the Butchart Gardens! It was the most amazing thing to see on this rainy day! Rooms full of flowers and streams and water fountains and orchids. The smell of the flowers was divine. I am so thankful that I can experience this little bit of heaven and want to thank all those gardeners who put so much work into this family owned garden.
At the Butchart Gardens they also have the Historical Display inside the main house that the family lived in. The curator told us that the family still come and use some of the rooms to have tea in. He said many of the family still live in our area. There was some beautiful wax artwork in one of the rooms made by the owner.
Weekend in Black and White
Bird D'Pot Sunday
Then at the end of the week we found a Common Merganser on a pond nearby and at Swan Lake a little Towhee showed no fear of me on this uncropped photo as he came up to my feet. Nature is such a wonderful and precious thing. I am forever grateful for the gifts nature has given to me over so many years. No matter who you are, or how sad you are or even if you have nothing, nature is always there for you.
