Coastal Storms

We are having many windy storms on the coast.

These are taken at Island View Beach.

The ducks and the shorebirds don't seem to mind the bad weather.

So much rain.

 Swans for Nature Notes.

Above is someones backyard full of swans and below is a hawk in my backyard.

For Wild Bird

I was thinking of the clothing the First Nations wore in the early days and how cold it must have been for them. They must  have been so strong.  More pictures from the museum.

Ruby Tuesday Too

  3. I've often wondered about how strong the constitutions were of the original peoples of all lands. Lately I've been going barefoot outdoors in cold weather with a crazy notion that it makes me stronger. I'm enjoying your photos of winter. Ours in my part of California is still quite mild.

  5. I can’t get over having swans or hawks as backyard birds! As always I loved every photo. I have had the same questions about First Nation and PNW Native Americans and how they protected themselves in cold rainy weather.

  9. Funny as I have been reading and native people and looking at activists as my poem up now is from one. I think we treated them terribly and in a way still do here in the states....Michelle
