Welcome to the Island Rambles Blog

Welcome to my blog world. This is a photo blog, poetry and short story blog about my life on Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada. I take photos of the birds and scenery I find. I hope you enjoy your time here and please come back again. PHOTOS WILL ENLARGE IF CLICKED. The photos are slide show enabled if you click on them. If you click on the top lighthouse photo it always takes you to the most recent summary list of my postings. I am also mostly at my Facebook Page Island Rambles or my Instagram islandrambles.

Color Me Blue

We saw the driftwood sculpture out at Esquimalt Lagoon by the blue waters and.......

we also saw a blue Sitting Lady Falls out at Witty's Lagoon.

At Goldstream the salmon are spawning and the gulls, eagles and the little dippers are happy. All of Goldstream has turned golden.

Something Red for our ABC Meme, the red Polar Prince was in town as it finished it's journey.

The Peacocks were showing off their Blue at Beacon Hill Park.

We found a hybrid of some kind out in Sidney, it must be a Swangoose or something mixed. It is very large and quite pretty.

And then more Blue, we found the real Blue Jay that is visiting us for a while.

A very pretty Ring-billed Gull down at the seaside at Cattle Point.

Here I found some nice fences for the fences meme. This one is at Centennial Park in Sidney.

This fence is at the fishing dock at Elk Lake.

Out in Sidney we found a young Red-tailed hawk playing with a Raven and having fun. Could be the Spunky hawk but he could not take the time to tell me, he was having so much fun. I wish he would fly down, land on my shoulder and tell me if he is the Spunky hawk.

He does not have any red on his tail so he is a baby hawk.
