The Poem today is about my love for nature and....
all the things nature brings to us.
Nature:
We are but mere dreams
clouds that whisper past
the face of the moon
but you - you are eternal
all knowing - all giving - all loving
you create in such abundant
perfection
were I to achieve just one
perfect leaf
it would be mine for forever
but you - you toss them away in the wind
all gold and glorious
to fall among the ripples of the
blackened streams
running red with spawn
your beautiful slick shining silver scaled flesh
now with rotted gut and
barren hook nose you too are
tossed aside on pebbled shores
still twitching
the sound of the shrill
excitement still echoes
across from where the gulls fly
to feed upon this
this abundance - this natural perfection
were you mine - I would have lost
you for forever in keeping you
for so long.

(This poem is a celebration of fall and about the salmon that spawn their eggs in the river in fall and then they die. They return to the exact same river that they were born in to lay these eggs and the gulls, eagles and animals have a large party. The fish remain on the shores and fertilise the trees so when they tested the DNA of all the trees they were composed almost totally of fish. It is the circle of life and all of nature plays a part.)
