The poems today are about meditation, a castle and....
a sweet child.
meditation
sometimes I like to
sit in silence
and listen to my
thoughts
to be completely alone
to listen to
those far away
forever stilled echos
of my soul
to see the simplicity
and the oneness of the earth
and to feel the harmony
flowing
through my veins
to see
the beauty and
the wonder of it all.
Hearst Castle
the castle
ruins dotting
a hillside
grey stone towers
rain dripping
upon the dandelions
child on tiptoes
gazing out of
a stained glass window.
(Written when I was a child I went to see Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California.)
These pictures are of Hatley Castle.
The Sweet Child
the sun shone for a glance
upon the red silk
cutting the grey dust
painting it gold
the chimney of my window
danced in whirling smoke
dark clouds clung to
the black mound of earth
a white sky outlined bare trees
branches scratched the far top
all the world came
tumbling down upon my lap
like a sweet child's ringlets.
Written as a young girl living in a rooming house alone going to school with a sweet angel.
Poems written by Nora Flower© as a young teen and child
