Welcome to the Island Rambles Blog

Welcome to my blog world. This is a photo blog, poetry and short story blog about my life on Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada. I take photos of the birds and scenery I find. I hope you enjoy your time here and please come back again. PHOTOS WILL ENLARGE IF CLICKED. The photos are slide show enabled if you click on them. If you click on the top lighthouse photo it always takes you to the most recent summary list of my postings. I am also at my Facebook Page Island Rambles or Islandrambles at YouTube.

Midweek Post

Just a little posting to put in some current pictures.

That is the Moss Lady above there in Beacon Hill Park.

The Peacocks in the park are still lovely, missing a few feathers.

We had a few foggy days with no wind for the sailboats.

My two Collared Doves come each day.  They are Lovey and Dovey.

Still have many Hummingbirds at the feeders, mostly all Annas now.

There were so many birds moving through Panama flats before it was hayed.
Not sure what these are.

This is a tree at Hatley Park above.

We went to Fort Rodd Hill for their Historical Day.

On Facebook you can see my Island Rambles Page where I post frequently. I post videos frequently on my Island Rambles YouTube Channel also. You can find me on Twitter here.

  1. Thanks for this post about so much that is familiar to me in Greater Victoria. It brought back many happy memories. I hope to return one day.

  2. Another lovely selection of photographs. I've heard of Hatley Park as I once wrote a blog post about passing through the village of Hatley, just a few miles from here. I got an email from a lady at Hatley Park asking if she might use a photo I took of Hatley Hall as there was a connection with Hatley Park in Vancouver. You can find out about it (and see my photo!) on their website.

  3. How have I missed the moss lady at Beacon zhill, it’s on my list for our next visit.

  4. My favourite one is the sailing ship amidst the fog.

  5. Lovely photos, Nora! It's a lovely part of Canada.

  6. Thanks so much for your kind comments on my blog.
